Florida requirements & terms
- Permits & code. All window and exterior door replacements require a building permit and final inspection from the local building department. Products are furnished with a Florida Product Approval or Miami-Dade NOA and are installed to meet the Florida Building Code, 8th Edition (2023), including the wind-load and wind-borne-debris (impact-resistant glazing or approved shutters) requirements that apply at the project address. High-Velocity Hurricane Zone rules apply in Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
- Notice of Commencement. For improvements over $5,000, Florida Statute §713.13 requires the owner to record a Notice of Commencement and post it at the job site before work begins.
- Right to cancel. If this agreement is signed at your residence, you may cancel it without penalty within three (3) business days of signing by notifying Coastal Luxe in writing (Florida Statute §501.025).
- Recovery fund. Payment may be available from the Florida Homeowners' Construction Recovery Fund if you lose money on a project performed under contract, where the loss results from specified violations of Florida law by a state-licensed contractor. For information, contact the Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board, 2601 Blair Stone Road, Tallahassee, FL 32399-1039 (Florida Statute §489.1425).
- Lien law. Under Florida law, those who work on your property or provide materials and are not paid in full have a right to enforce their claim against your property. This is known as a construction lien (Chapter 713, Part I).
- Pricing. Prices are an estimate based on the sizes and options selected in the visualizer and are confirmed after a field measure. Sizes marked as estimated are subject to adjustment. Hidden conditions (rot, stucco repair, structural changes) are quoted separately in writing before work proceeds. This quote is valid through September 18, 2026. Florida sales tax applies to taxable materials.
- Warranty. Manufacturer limited warranty per the Alside® product line selected, plus a Coastal Luxe workmanship warranty on installation labor.
